Ensenada. The Wine Capital of Mexico.

Ensenada and the nearby Guadalupe Valley offer a wide variety of options for the visitor.

From walking on the port boardwalk, visiting the shops and bars on Paseo Calle Primera or to visiting the legendary Hotel Riviera. Across the bay is the Bufadora(second largest ocean water spout in the world).  The many famed wineries of Valle de Guadalupe are just minutes from Casa de los Siete Patios where you can enjoy lunch at some of the best restaurants in the region.

Recorriendo Enenada

City Visit.

Walk on the boardwalk of bay and watch the dancing waters, or take a boat ride on the calm port and after visit the Mercado Negro that offers a variety of seafood that you can taste in the many stands and restaurants. Learn a little local history and visit the legendary Al Capone(investor) Hotel Riviera where you can savor the original margarita where it was invented at the Andaluz Bar. After you can visit the shops and restaurants of Paseo Calle Primera where you must taste the famous French pastry of world famous El Rey Sol Restaurant. The décor and music will transport you to the City of Light.

Qué comer

What to dine.

Ensenada was named the Creative City in the gastronomic area by UNESCO.  The local options are superb. Seven of the ten most expensive seafoods of the world are caught in the Ensenada waters. The fish taco was also invented in Ensenada, so try some at one of the street stands, or if in the mood for something more formal, try the famous French cuisine at the emblematic El Rey Sol Restaurant.

Ruta del Vino

The Wine Route.

The Ruta del Vino starts just minutes away from Casa de los Siete Patios. An obligatory visit to the Museo del Vino is where to gain knowledge of wine and the beginning of the wine industry in Ensenada.

If you want to taste more than a couple of the award winning wines, we recommend hiring a driver so you can safely visit many of the dozens of wineries. We can recommend many, but will list a few of our favorites, as Monte Xanic, El Cielo, Adobe Guadalupe, Hacienda Guadalupe, Vinicola Martlot and Sol y Barro.
